How To Make Bibimbap
An illustrated guide to preparing Korean mixed rice
BRIEF
The concept of this project was to visualize a multistep process using minimal text, relying instead on a symbolic and illustrated language to guide the user to the intended outcome. I originally created this recipe booklet under the guidance of Douglass Scott, a RISD professor who introduced me to information design and data visualization in 2018.
DATA
The process for preparing the Korean mixed rice dish bibimbap is based on the recipe in My Korean Kitchen, which I modified slightly to accommodate vegetarians. I make the dish with a quick-pickled cucumber salad mixed in, the recipe for which is from The Spruce Eats.
